Rabbits
We raise Angora rabbits. Our colony includes both German (or Giant) Angora and French Angora.
Recently, we became the first farm in Washington to become certified organic for our Angora wool. Why organic? Many people are allergic to wool. Could it be from the medicated feed and sprays applied to the rabbits? We don't really know. What we do know is that our rabbits live happy, healthy lives.
Angora wool is great for blending with other fibers in spinning. (When you buy an Angora sweater, it comes from an Angora rabbit.) The wool is harvested by brushing or clipping the wool. We tend their wool for their comfort as much as for our use. Angora wool is also great for felting.
